Your First Visit
When you visit our office for the first time, we will talk about your smile and examine your teeth. Dr. Astuto will create a care plan for your specific needs and walk you through the timeline of your treatment so you know exactly what to expect. Throughout your orthodontic journey, we will send personalized content right when you need it, keeping you informed at every step. If you have questions, we recommend writing them down beforehand so we can address them all during your visit.
What to Bring
Before your appointment, you can complete new patient registration forms online. If you do not submit these forms ahead of time, we ask that you arrive a few minutes early to your appointment to complete them. Please bring these items with you to your first appointment:
- Medical and/or dental insurance information
- List of current medications
- Valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license)
- Referral forms, if applicable
- Dental X-rays
- Form of payment
Parents of Minors
Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to the consultation appointment.
What to Expect
During your first visit, we will examine your teeth, mouth, and jaws. We will ask if you have difficulties chewing or swallowing and if you experience pain or clicking of the jaw joint. Dr. Astuto will create your customized treatment plan and walk you through the timeline of your care. Our staff will provide you with a cost estimate, go over your payment and financing options, and answer any questions you may have.
3D Scanning
To get a closer look at your teeth and create a personalized treatment plan, we will take CBCT scans of your mouth and face at the consultation.

If you are able to pay for the course of treatment in full at its inception, a benefit of 5% will be taken off of the invoice, which will pass bookkeeping savings on to you. - Insurance/Flexible Spending Programs
Our practice understands that insurance is a contract between the patient and the insurance company, not between the doctor and the insurance company. At Full Smile Orthodontics, we will do everything possible to help our patients receive due benefits from their association or insurance carrier. - Third-Party Financing Companies
Full Smile Orthodontics offers CareCredit® and LendingPoint™ options to eligible patients.
